We pride ourselves on teaching WTF style taekwondo, the same style as used in the Olympics. We use a proven syllabus governed by British Taekwondo.

Form (Poomse)
Form or poomse, is a collection of pre-arranged Taekwondo moves, consisting of blocks, strikes and kicks to defend and attack an invisible opponent. There are 8 Taegeuk patterns, each designed to teach and aid in the fluid transition from one move to the next. Poomse is included as part of the grading process from yellow belt onwards, up to red belt/black tags. For black belt gradings, there are a further 8 forms, one for each DAN grading.
Self Defence
One of the best reasons for anyone to get into Taekwondo is the ability to be able to defend themselves should the need arise. As part of the British Taekwondo syllabus, all students are taught self defence techniques that are appropriate to their grade, how to avoid, diffuse and defend at different levels of confrontation. Through the use of three step and one step sparring exercises, students are taught how to defend against an attack and retaliate with various strikes.

Master Ian Ball
5th Dan
Ian started training in Taekwondo in 1987.
Ian is a 5th Dan black belt, and has competed in various Sparring and Poomse competitions and is fully CRB checked and First Aid qualified.
Master Tom Ball
5th Dan
Tom started training in Taekwondo in 1987. Tom is a 5th Dan black belt, and has competed in various Sparring and Poomse competitions and is fully CRB checked and First Aid qualified.
Melissa Ball
4th Dan
Melissa started training in Taekwondo in 2007, and is first aid trained. Melissa has competed in various Sparring and Poomse Competitions and is fully CRB checked.
Leanne
3rd Dan
Leanne started training in Taekwondo in 2010 and is our most recent 3rd Dan. Leanne has competed in various Sparring and Poomsae competitions and is fully CRB checked and first aid trained.
